½" Swing Joints
A ½" swing joint is a flexible, pre-assembled connection between a ½" lateral line and a sprinkler head — it sets the head to grade, absorbs mower and traffic impact, and drops into ½" Rain Bird SA-series layouts.
Innovative Plastics ½"×½" swing joint assemblies arrive ready to install from the case, built from heavy-duty LDPE funny pipe, Celcon M90 funny-pipe fittings, and Marlex HDPE street ells. The flexible tubing lets you position hard-to-reach heads and gives when struck, protecting the lateral below.
The ½" size is the most common residential and light-commercial swing joint. Choose 6" of tubing for tight, shallow installs or 12" for more reach, and a 1-ell assembly for a straightforward head or the 3-ell (X3) build for extra articulation on uneven grade.
