Male Adapters (Black PVC)

A male adapter is the fitting that lets a run of irrigation pipe change over from a slip joint to a male threaded connection. On one end it accepts solvent-welded slip pipe; on the other it carries male pipe threads that screw directly into valves, fittings, and risers. That simple transition is what makes the male adapter one of the most-used parts on a sprinkler job — almost anywhere a smooth pipe run needs to hand off to a threaded component, a male adapter does the work. These are molded in durable black PVC, the same tough, weather-resistant material that holds up to sun, soil, and moisture through years of underground and outdoor service.

In practice, the male adapter shows up wherever a sprinkler connection has to thread into something. Glue the slip end onto the lateral line and the threaded end drops straight into a valve, a coupling, or the top of a riser. The black PVC male adapters are offered in two sizes, ½” and ¾”, covering the lateral and supply lines you find on most residential and light-commercial irrigation systems. Both sizes are stocked and sold by the case, so contractors building out a system at volume can keep a steady supply of transition fittings on hand rather than running short mid-install. Molded from durable black PVC, they resist UV exposure and ground moisture, which is what keeps a buried or above-grade connection sound over the long haul.
