Caps PVC End Caps
Offered in two distinct styles, PVC End Caps and Riser Caps provide an ideal solution for securing conduit openings.
A PVC conduit end cap is an injection-molded high-impact PVC cover that seals the open end of a conduit against water, dirt, and debris. Innovative Plastics offers conduit end caps in eleven sizes from ½ inch (15 mm) to 6 inches (150 mm), molded from high-impact polyvinyl chloride for a tough, dimensionally consistent part. The high-impact PVC resists cracking and impact damage during shipping, staging, and rough handling on the job site, while injection molding delivers smooth walls and reliable lot-to-lot consistency so every cap in a case fits the same way.
Installation is tool-free and requires no solvent cement. Each cap simply pushes onto the end of the conduit by hand and seats in seconds, which lets a crew close off a long run of openings quickly without the cure time, mess, or fumes of a glued fitting. Because they push on rather than bond, the caps can also be removed when the conduit is finally put into service — a practical advantage for openings that are stored or stubbed out for later use. The caps fit Schedule 40 & 80 and EB and DB conduit, covering the most common rigid PVC raceway used underground; if you are unsure which wall thickness you have, our guide to Schedule 40 vs. 80 conduit caps explains how to match a cap to your conduit, and the Schedule 40 / Schedule 80 glossary entry defines the two ratings.
These caps are made for the field conditions of electrical, broadband, and fiber optic work. They seal stored or stubbed-out conduit on utility, municipal, government, data-center, and fiber projects — keeping water, soil, rodents, and construction debris out of empty raceway between the time it is placed and the time cable is pulled. A clean, sealed conduit means crews are not flushing mud or clearing blockages before they can pull, which protects schedule and reduces rework. Underground, the warp-resistant design matters: buried conduit caps are exposed to soil pressure, moisture, and temperature swings, and a cap that holds its shape keeps a consistent seal rather than loosening or distorting over a long dwell underground. The caps are rated for both encased (concrete-duct-bank) and direct-burial installations.
It helps to know the difference between an end cap and a riser cap. A standard PVC end cap is a plain closure for sealing an opening you do not need to revisit on a schedule. A riser cap adds a rope-tie loop on its underside to capture mule tape or a pull-line, so the line stays anchored and accessible for a future pull. Reach for riser caps when you need to keep a pull-line tied off in the conduit, and choose the plain end cap when you simply need to close and protect the opening. Both styles, and the rest of the caps family, share the same high-impact PVC and push-on installation.
