A Made-in-USA Alternative to JackMoon Duct Plugs

Innovative Plastics LDPE temporary conduit plugs are an American-made alternative to JackMoon-style duct plugs — snap-in seal with a built-in pull-rope tie, trade sizes 1"–8", sold by the case.

By Innovative Plastics Manufacturing

If you have been sourcing JackMoon-style duct plugs for fiber and conduit work, Innovative Plastics makes an American-made alternative that does the same job: a snap-in temporary seal that keeps water, debris, and animals out of open duct, with a built-in tie for the pull-line. Here is what that means and how our line matches up.

What we mean by “alternative”

Our temporary plugs are an independent product from Innovative Plastics Manufacturing — not a JackMoon part and not a licensed copy. Calling them an alternative means they are the same category of fitting: a reusable, hand-installed plug that seals an empty duct or innerduct during construction and includes a molded rope-tie for staging mule tape. They install and remove the same way, by hand, with no tools.

Confirm the trade size and any project-specific sealing requirements against our size tables and your drawings before substituting.

What Innovative Plastics offers

  • Material: low-density polyethylene (LDPE) — semi-pliable, high-impact, chemically inert, with very low moisture absorption; resists UV, ozone, and wide temperature swings.
  • Seal: tapered, scalloped side walls form a friction snap-in seal that resists wind, water flow, and backfill pressure, and a flanged lip makes tool-free removal easy, so plugs can be reused.
  • Pull-line ready: a molded rope-tie on every plug holds mule tape for the eventual cable pull.
  • Sizes: 12 trade sizes, 1”–8”, covering everything from a single fiber innerduct to large primary conduit.
  • Origin: made in Texas, USA, sold by the case — a domestic-sourcing option for fiber, BEAD, and Buy-America-sensitive builds. (Confirm Buy America / BABA qualification with sales for your specific project.)

Getting the size right

Order to the trade size of the duct you are sealing — a 2” duct takes a 2” plug, a 4” duct a 4” plug. For fiber innerduct inside a larger host conduit, order the innerduct size so the plug seats on the duct it is protecting. Our conduit plug sizing guide maps every size to a part number, and temporary vs. permanent conduit plugs explains when a reusable plug is the right call.

Trademark & compatibility note

Comparison here refers to product category and function — reusable, snap-in temporary conduit/duct plugs with a pull-rope tie — not to any claim that our parts are made by, licensed by, or sold by another manufacturer. Innovative Plastics Manufacturing is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by JackMoon. “JackMoon” is a trademark of its respective owner and is referenced here only to describe the product category buyers search for. Confirm exact dimensions and spec compliance for your application before substituting.

Frequently asked questions

Are Innovative Plastics plugs a JackMoon product?
No. Innovative Plastics temporary plugs are manufactured by Innovative Plastics Manufacturing in Texas, USA. JackMoon is a separate brand from a different manufacturer. Our plugs serve the same purpose — a snap-in temporary seal for open conduit and duct with a built-in pull-rope tie — but they are an independent product, not a JackMoon part.
Do Innovative Plastics plugs have a pull-rope tie like JackMoon-style plugs?
Yes. Every Innovative Plastics temporary plug has a molded rope-tie so mule tape or a pull-line stays anchored in the duct for a future cable pull, and the tapered LDPE body installs and removes by hand.
What sizes are available?
Twelve trade sizes from 1" to 8", covering standard duct and innerduct. All ship by the case and are made in the USA. Match the plug to the trade size of the duct you are sealing.
